info@agrigep.euThe AGRIGEP Project, focused on advancing gender equality in research institutions within agricultural and environmental fields, has made significant strides in raising awareness and building partnerships through its presentations at three prominent international conferences. The project, a collaborative effort, aims to create more inclusive research environments, where gender diversity plays a key role in innovation and progress.
The project’s results and methodologies have been shared with global audiences in the form of engaging poster presentations at the following conferences:
MCYR Conference | Prague, Czech Republic | 3-4 October 2024
The first stop on AGRIGEP’s conference tour was the MCYR Conference. At this event, the AGRIGEP team presented the project’s early findings on how promoting gender equality can influence research productivity and innovation in these specialized fields.
Through the poster presentation, participants explored how the integration of gender perspectives can enhance the quality of research in reproductive biotechnology. The discussions that followed created opportunities for future collaborations between the AGRIGEP team and other international institutions working toward shared goals.
WeResEt Final Conference | Porto, Portugal | 7-8 October 2024
The second and highly significant platform was the WeResEt Final Conference, a gathering of research institutions and policymakers from across Europe. This event was of utmost importance to AGRIGEP as it aligned with the WeResEt initiative’s mission of „resetting“ research systems to be more equitable and inclusive.
During the event, the AGRIGEP team shared insights on how gender equality policies within agricultural research institutions are shaping the future of sustainable development and innovation. The poster presentation highlighted best practices for institutional change, presenting case studies from project partners and fostering a critical dialogue about how these strategies can be scaled across Europe. The feedback from peers was instrumental in refining AGRIGEP’s future actions and dissemination plans while meeting our SISTERS PROJECTS in Porto.
EAZA Annual Conference | Leipzig, Germany | 8-12 October 2024
The AGRIGEP Project culminates its 2024 conference circuit at the EAZA Annual Conference, a premier gathering of professionals from the zoological and conservation fields. While the conference focuses primarily on wildlife conservation, it provides a unique platform for discussing how gender equality in research institutions can improve both environmental and agricultural outcomes.
At this event, AGRIGEP emphasized how gender-sensitive research teams bring diverse perspectives that can lead to more innovative solutions in conservation efforts. The poster sparked conversations on how gender balance in leadership and research can translate into more sustainable and impactful environmental projects, offering a fresh angle in the conservation discourse.
Through these conference presentations, the AGRIGEP Project continues to expand its influence, fostering international dialogue and partnerships. The AGRIGEP team is excited to carry forward the momentum gained from these events, incorporating feedback and strengthening collaborations as it works toward a more inclusive and innovative future for research in agriculture and environmental sciences.
