info@agrigep.euThis spring, the annual Girls‘ Day event took place once again — a flagship programme of the Association of Hungarian Women in Science (NaTE). The initiative aims to bring STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers closer to high school girls by showing them that careers in STEM are not just for boys.
NaTE is also present on the European stage. As a consortium partner in AGRIGEP, NaTE is committed to empowering women to pursue and thrive in scientific careers in agriculture and life sciences.
Girls‘ Day is a powerful example of how we can inspire future female researchers, engineers, and innovators at a young age — breaking down stereotypes that too often discourage them from choosing STEM paths. This year, hundreds of girls participated in hands-on programmes, visited labs and research centres, and met inspiring female role models from academia and industry.
For NaTE, Girls‘ Day is not just a one-day event, but part of a long-term mission. European initiatives like the STREAM IT mentoring programme help sustain the enthusiasm generated during these events and provide young women with concrete support, training, and networks at the beginning of their professional journeys.
